In the face of looming catastrophes like climate change, diminishing global resources, and a sixth major extinction event, it’s difficult not to suffer feelings of rage and impotence at their seeming inevitability. Most of us resign ourselves to these feelings and still get up for work everyday. I wanted to make a film about people who don’t. I wanted to make a film about people who think their time is so short that they stop giving a fuck and become pirates.
